Legalization services for foreigners in Poland: how to choose the filing city
Legalizing your stay in Poland does not start with filling in MOS 2.0 — it starts with choosing the right basis and filing city. Work, business, studies, family, Blue Card, CUKR, permanent stay, EU long-term resident or citizenship all require different logic and documents, and your application is reviewed by the voivodeship office in the region where you file.
ONE PLUS supports foreigners in Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań and Katowice. We help you understand which city and basis fit your case, verify documents before filing and prepare the case according to the practice of the relevant Urząd Wojewódzki.
The same residence permit type can be handled differently across voivodeships: timelines, document formats, income requirements and wezwanie response logic all vary.
ONE PLUS has officially operated in Poland since 2018, and our specialists have more than 11 years of practical experience in foreigner cases. Thanks to years of hands-on work and ongoing contact with Voivodeship Offices, we understand how cases actually move, where delays most often arise and which steps truly help bring the process to a result as quickly as possible.
The right filing city is not about convenience. It is about which office will assess your documents and how well your case fits local practice.
How to choose the city: Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań or Katowice
The city where you file your case is determined primarily by your actual place of residence, not by your place of work. The key rule is simple: documents should be submitted to the Voivodeship Office responsible for the address where you genuinely live — whether you rent a flat, have address registration or own your home. At the same time, you may work in another city or even another region, for example if you are a driver, a mobile worker or work across several areas. Warsaw is the right option for people who actually live in the Mazowieckie region, Wrocław for Dolnośląskie, Poznań for Wielkopolskie and Katowice for Śląskie. During the consultation, we review your address, tenancy documents, address registration and real living situation to make sure the case is filed with the correct office.
What we check before filing
- which basis and city are safest for your meldunek and plans;
- passport, photo, current stay status, address and insurance;
- contract, salary, position and employer documents;
- załącznik nr 1, income, PIT, ZUS and other proof;
- family documents, sworn translations and apostille;
- entry history, past visa timelines and previous cards;
- meldunek, lease or right to use the apartment;
- readiness for MOS 2.0, UPO, office visit and wezwania replies.
Main residence permit paths
For legally employed workers and highly qualified specialists. We verify contract, salary and employer documents before filing.
For JDG, sp. z o.o. and entrepreneurs. Real business activity must be demonstrated.
For students, spouses, children and family members. We prepare documents clearly for the inspector.
We help Ukrainian citizens, long-term residents and clients planning the path to Polish citizenship.
Mistakes that most often delay the case
- filing at the wrong office or ignoring residence address;
- unsuitable basis for the application;
- inconsistent data across documents;
- errors in załącznik nr 1 or MOS 2.0;
- insufficient income or missing insurance;
- unread messages from the office;
- filing based on a template from another voivodeship;
- expired certificates, translations or documents.
How ONE PLUS handles legalization cases
We handle every case individually, not through a standard template. First, we analyze your situation, review your current immigration status and check whether your documents are complete and up to date. Then we align the full document package with your legal basis of stay in Poland and the requirements of the specific office handling the case.
Our support does not end with the filing. We stay involved throughout the process: we communicate with the inspector, respond to official requests, update documents when needed, prepare complaints against administrative inactivity and, where necessary, bring the matter before the administrative court to help speed up the decision.
Voivodeship offices: where to submit documents
Residence cases are handled by Urzędy Wojewódzkie — one per voivodeship (Warsaw has two Mazowiecki Urząd offices). Below is the full list of main foreign nationals’ offices in Poland with official websites and maps.
If you are not sure which city to file in or which residence card to choose, it is safer to verify the basis first. Leave a request — we will review your situation before filing.
