Below is how the main areas work in practice: vehicle registration, cars from the EU and outside the EU, licence exchange, consular registration, deregistration, vehicle power of attorney and sworn translations. In each case the outcome depends on the country of purchase, the import path, seller and buyer status, tax or customs duties, technical inspection, insurance and proof of ownership.
Since 2018 we have handled car registration, licence exchange and related cases in Wrocław in practice. First we check whether the documents are enough to file, and only then go to the office.
Vehicle registration in Poland
Car registration in Wrocław starts with a review of the contract, VIN and owner documents, before the visit to the vehicle registration office. We support new and used cars from Poland, the EU and non-EU countries.
Depending on the situation, you may need documents on technical inspection, insurance, excise, customs clearance or deregistration from a previous authority. Foreign documents often need a sworn translation into Polish. PESEL and address registration (zameldowanie) are also frequently required.

Formalities for a car purchased abroad
Buying a car outside Poland requires a more thorough document review. A contract and foreign registration certificate alone may not be enough. The country of previous registration, the seller's status, how the vehicle was acquired, the import date and any tax or customs confirmations all matter.
If the car was purchased in the EU, you usually need to confirm the legality of the purchase, meet tax obligations and prepare documents for vehicle registration in Poland. The search term “EU car customs clearance” is common, although it does not always mean a classic customs procedure.
When importing a car from a country outside the European Union, customs duty, VAT, excise and other formalities may additionally apply. Their scope depends on the country of origin, the vehicle's characteristics and the terms of the transaction. In such cases we support customs clearance for cars from outside the EU through to preparation for registration.

Exchanging a foreign driving licence for a Polish one
Whether you may continue using a foreign driving licence depends on the country of issue, length of residence in Poland, international agreements and the validity of the document. In certain situations the licence must be exchanged for a Polish one.
ONE PLUS checks whether exchange is required in your case, prepares the application, arranges translation and helps gather attachments. If a Polish office needs confirmation from the country of issue, we support that stage as well.
Additional complications may arise when the licence is in an old format, the document is damaged, the holder's surname has changed or licence information is missing from an electronic database. In such cases it is especially important to confirm in advance which supporting documents the office will accept.

Verification of Ukrainian driving licences
This service is mainly for Ukrainian citizens before a Polish licence exchange: if the licence is an older format or missing from the register, the Polish office may require confirmation. We help enter the Ukrainian licence into the database and close this step before filing for exchange.
Consular registration
Consular registration means registering with your country’s consular post in Poland. For drivers it is most often needed before travelling home in a car with Polish plates, without the right registration and a check of the vehicle papers, border formalities can mean extra fees or refusal of temporary import.
ONE PLUS helps with temporary or permanent consular registration for citizens of Ukraine, Belarus and other countries whose consulate offers this procedure. We review the passport, stay status and address in Poland, prepare the application and registration card, and tell you which post to use.

Vehicle deregistration in Poland
Deregistration may be required after exporting or selling a car abroad, scrapping it, theft or another legally defined reason.
A sales contract alone does not always end all obligations of the previous owner. Depending on the circumstances, a sale notification, transfer of documents, return of number plates or a separate deregistration application may be needed.
ONE PLUS verifies the legal basis for the procedure, prepares the application and supporting documents. If the registration certificate, plates or other materials are missing, we analyse what can replace them and what explanations should be submitted.
Buying, selling and power of attorney for a vehicle
A car may be bought or sold through a representative, but you need a correctly drafted power of attorney for a vehicle. An overly general POA or missing authority to sign a contract, register or deregister often leads to refusal.
ONE PLUS prepares a power of attorney for a vehicle for your goal: purchase, sale, registration or the full formalities cycle. The document sets out the parties, vehicle details and the exact actions the representative may take.
If a power of attorney for a vehicle was issued outside Poland, we check whether an apostille, consular legalisation or sworn translation is needed, and whether the existing document fits the specific procedure.
Sworn translation of vehicle documents
Documents in a foreign language may require translation by a Polish sworn translator. This can apply to a sales contract, registration certificate, driving licence, power of attorney, customs declaration or certificate from a foreign authority.
We arrange sworn document translation and determine in advance which pages actually need to be translated. This way the client does not order unnecessary work but receives a file suited to the purpose of submission.
Checking the vehicle and documents before purchase
Automotive services in Poland do not begin with a visit to an office, but with a document review before money is transferred to the seller. Even an attractive price does not compensate for problems if the seller is not the owner, there is no continuous chain of contracts, the VIN is incorrect or the vehicle's tax status is unclear.
Before purchase we can review the document set and explain what will be needed to register the car for the new owner. Particular attention is paid to seller details, basis of ownership, country of previous registration, foreign registration certificate, number plates and confirmations related to import.
If a company is buying the vehicle, we additionally verify the legal entity's details, the representative's authority and the documents under which the vehicle will be used in business activity.
A preliminary review does not replace a technical inspection of the car, but it helps identify legal and documentary risks in advance.
What to do if there are errors in the documents
Even a small discrepancy can stop the procedure. Problems arise from errors in the owner's surname, an incorrect VIN, a missing signature, differences between the contract and registration certificate, an incomplete chain of contracts or missing confirmation from another country.
If an office requests additional documents or refuses to accept the application, ONE PLUS analyses the letter received and the entire file. After review we determine whether a document can be corrected, an additional certificate obtained, an explanation submitted or a new application prepared.
Official correspondence should not be ignored. The letter usually states a deadline for supplementing documents or providing explanations. The sooner a specialist sees the full text of the request, the more time remains to prepare a response.
