How to Check Residence Permit Status in Poland

How to Check Your Residence Permit Case Status in Poland
Why Is It Important to Track Your Application Status?
Waiting for a decision on a temporary or permanent residence permit in Poland can take many months, and in some cases even years. During this period, many foreigners do not fully understand what stage their case is at, why the process is taking so long, or what is currently required from them.
Understanding the stages of the residence permit procedure helps applicants plan travel, extend other documents, make informed decisions, and respond on time to requests from the Voivodeship Office.
What Changed in 2026 After the Launch of MOS 2.0
Since 2026, residence permit applications in Poland have officially moved to an online submission system through the new government platform MOS 2.0. Most foreigners can now submit their application electronically without the need for personal registration at the immigration office at the moment of submission.
This became one of the biggest changes in Polish immigration procedures in recent years.
The MOS 2.0 system allows applicants to:
- submit the application online;
- upload documents electronically;
- receive UPO submission confirmation;
- partially monitor the case status online.
However, in practice, the system is still relatively basic. At the moment, MOS 2.0 mainly shows general updates regarding the case, while full communication with the immigration inspector is still limited. Many foreigners expect the platform to be further developed and improved in the coming years to become a complete system for monitoring residence permit proceedings in Poland.
eDoręczenia — The New Communication System with the Immigration Office
Another major change introduced in 2026 is the gradual replacement of traditional paper correspondence with the eDoręczenia system.
Previously, most foreigners received wezwania, decisions, and official letters from the immigration office by regular post. Poland is now gradually moving toward digital communication between public institutions and foreigners.
In practice, this means that more and more information regarding residence permit cases will be delivered through eDoręczenia rather than in paper form. For this reason, foreigners should regularly check their electronic notifications and monitor communication regarding their case online.
At the same time, some immigration offices still continue to use traditional paper letters alongside digital communication, especially in certain administrative procedures.
How to Check Residence Permit Status in Wroclaw in 2026
In Wroclaw, the residence permit case tracking system remains one of the most convenient in Poland. Even after the launch of MOS 2.0, the following system continues to operate:
Dolnośląski Urząd Wojewódzki additionally updates foreigner case information in this system.
As before, foreigners can use pio-przybysz.duw.pl to:
- track residence permit status;
- check the stage of case examination;
- view decision information;
- monitor residence card production;
- check whether the card is ready for collection.
In practice, many foreigners in Wroclaw continue using this system because it remains more transparent and informative than the current version of MOS 2.0.
