Need help with a residence permit, legal employment, hiring a foreign worker, running a business or responding to an official letter? During an individual legal consultation, we review your situation, examine your documents and explain what you can do next.

ONE PLUS provides legal consultations for foreigners, employers and business owners in Poland. We advise on residence and work legalisation, employment law, the legal hiring of foreign nationals, business matters, contracts and administrative proceedings.

You receive practical guidance, not a general summary of Polish law. We explain which options are available, what documents you need, which deadlines matter and what risks you should consider before making a decision.

Every case is different. Two people in similar situations may need different solutions because of their residence status, employment conditions, previous applications, official decisions or documents already submitted.

We support clients in Wrocław and throughout Poland. Consultations are available in English, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian.

Who We Help

Our consultations are available to foreign nationals who live or work in Poland, plan to relocate, want to legalise their stay or have received a letter from a Polish authority.

We also support employers hiring workers from outside the European Union. We review residence and employment documents, explain the employer’s obligations and help reduce the risk of illegal employment.

Our clients also include business owners, company directors, foreign investors, startup founders and freelancers. We provide support before a business is registered and when legal issues arise during its operation.

You do not need to wait until a problem appears. Reviewing your situation early can help prevent a refusal, missed deadline, inspection or costly correction later.

Residence and Work in Poland

The right to stay in Poland and the right to work are connected, but they are not the same. A legal residence status does not always provide an automatic right to work. A work permit, on the other hand, does not replace a valid basis of stay.

During the consultation, we examine both areas. We check your current residence status, employment basis, document validity, contract terms and the employer’s obligations.

We assist people preparing to move to Poland and foreign nationals who already live here. We also help clients who have changed employers, lost their job, received an official request or are unsure whether they can continue living and working in Poland legally.

Residence Permits

We help clients choose the correct basis for legal residence in Poland and prepare for the application process. We explain which documents are required, which deadlines apply and what the voivodeship office may examine.

Our consultations cover residence permits in Poland based on employment, business activity, studies, marriage, family reunification and other circumstances.

We also assist with permanent residence based on Polish ancestry, permanent residence based on a Karta Polaka, EU long-term residence and Polish citizenship.

Before recommending a solution, we review your current status, previous applications, document validity and the possible consequences of leaving Poland. If you have received a request for additional documents or a refusal, we examine the complete letter and explain the available options.

We also handle difficult cases involving incorrect information in an application, missed correspondence, an unreported address change, employer-related problems, a previous refusal, an entry ban or an undisclosed criminal conviction.

Work-Based Residence Permits

For a work-based residence permit, we review documents from both the employee and the employer. The position, salary, working hours and type of contract should be consistent throughout the application.

We explain which documents the employer must prepare, when changes in employment conditions need to be reported and what to do after changing companies. We can also assist when an employer refuses to provide a required document or has submitted incorrect information.

If the application was filed electronically, we can review the form, attachments and the remaining obligations of both parties. Successfully submitting an online application does not necessarily mean that the case is complete or correctly prepared.

We also advise people who lose their job while their application is pending, plan to change employers or need to confirm whether they can continue working legally.

EU Blue Card

We help highly qualified professionals and their employers prepare an application for an EU Blue Card. We review the employment terms, salary, job description and evidence of professional qualifications.

We assess whether the applicant’s education or professional experience matches the intended position. We also advise on changes of employer, position, salary or other employment conditions.

If an application has been refused, we review how the authority assessed the applicant’s qualifications and the employer’s documents. We then explain whether an appeal, additional evidence or a new application is likely to be the more appropriate option.

We advise on work permits, declarations on entrusting work to a foreign national, employer documentation, changes of position and changes of employer.

We explain when a foreign worker needs a separate work authorisation and when employment may be possible without an additional permit.

We also check whether the actual employment conditions match the documents. Differences in job title, salary, working hours or contract type may create problems during an inspection or a future residence application.

If a document has expired or the employee’s role has changed, we identify what the employer needs to do and whether the employment can continue legally.

Employment Compliance Audits

Employers hiring foreign nationals should review their workers’ documents regularly. An expired permit, an unreported change or an incorrect date can expose both the company and the employee to serious consequences.

ONE PLUS carries out employment compliance audits for foreign workers. We review residence documents, work authorisations, contracts, notifications and the procedures used within the company.

We check document expiry dates and how employment records are stored. We identify cases that require urgent action and explain which documents should be corrected or completed.

An audit can be particularly useful before an inspection by the Border Guard, the National Labour Inspectorate or the Social Insurance Institution. Finding errors early gives the employer time to organise the documentation and reduce legal risk.

After the review, the employer receives a clear explanation of the issues identified, their possible consequences and the recommended next steps.

Employment Law

We advise both employees and employers on employment law in Poland. We review employment contracts, civil law agreements, B2B contracts and other documents connected with work or professional cooperation.

Our consultations cover unpaid wages, working time, holiday entitlement, termination of employment, employee liability and employer obligations.

Foreign workers sometimes sign documents without fully understanding their legal effect. Before you sign, we can review the key provisions, explain the risks and identify clauses that require particular attention.

We also help employers create safer hiring and document management procedures. This is especially important for companies employing a larger number of workers from outside the European Union.

Appeals and Official Decisions

We assist clients who have received a refusal, a request for additional documents or another letter from a Polish authority. We review the full document, identify the response deadline and explain the consequences of taking no action.

Our support covers appeals involving residence permits, work permits, permanent residence, EU long-term residence and other administrative proceedings.

We examine whether the authority established the facts correctly, applied the relevant law and considered all the evidence submitted by the applicant.

Simply stating that you disagree with a decision is rarely enough. An effective appeal should address the authority’s specific findings and identify the documents supporting the applicant’s position.

Depending on the case, we help prepare explanations, supplementary documents and formal submissions. If court proceedings or professional legal representation are required, we arrange support from a licensed Polish advocate or legal adviser.

We advise foreign and Polish clients who want to start a business in Poland. We explain the differences between sole trader registration and operating through a company, helping the client choose a structure suited to the planned activity.

We assist with sole trader registration, setting up limited liability companies, making changes in the National Court Register and preparing business documents.

We also advise on a residence permit based on business activity. Registering a company does not automatically guarantee a residence permit. The authority may examine whether the business is genuinely active, what financial results it achieves and whether it has realistic development prospects.

We help foreign entrepreneurs understand their obligations in Poland and prepare documents for dealings with authorities, business partners and financial institutions.

Contracts and Civil Matters

We review contracts for private clients and businesses. We explain the main terms, the parties’ responsibilities, termination rules, contractual penalties and financial risks.

We also advise on breaches of contract, unpaid debts, consumer protection, property matters, inheritance and the recovery of claims.

Before signing a document, it is worth checking more than the price and contract period. Termination provisions, liability for delays, ownership of work and dispute resolution clauses may be equally important.

If court proceedings are necessary, we help organise the documentation and arrange representation by an appropriately qualified legal professional.

IT and E-commerce Law

We support technology companies, startups, software businesses, agencies, freelancers and operators of websites, platforms and online shops.

We prepare and review IT agreements, B2B contracts and agreements with developers, contractors and clients. We help define project acceptance rules, payment terms, responsibility for defects and ownership of code and other deliverables.

We also advise on website terms, platform and online shop regulations, privacy policies and personal data documentation.

Legal documents should reflect how the business actually operates. A generic online template may not cover the company’s business model, customer type, payment process or use of personal data.

Intellectual Property

We help protect company names, trademarks, logos, designs, written content, software and other creative work.

Before filing a trademark application, it is worth checking whether a similar sign is already protected. This can help assess the risk of refusal or a dispute with another business.

We advise on licence agreements, copyright transfers, the use of digital materials and brand protection in Poland and across the European Union.

For technology companies, it is particularly important to state clearly who owns the code, graphics, documentation and other elements of a project. Missing or unclear provisions may make it harder to sell a product, attract an investor or develop the business.

Criminal Cases

Criminal proceedings can affect not only a person’s criminal liability but also their right to remain in Poland. A conviction, pending case or undisclosed criminal record may be considered during a residence permit application.

In such situations, both the criminal documents and the person’s immigration status need to be reviewed. A previous conviction should not be hidden, and false information should not be entered in an application.

For criminal and fiscal criminal matters, we work with licensed Polish advocates and law firms. Support may include document analysis, preparation of a defence strategy and representation by an authorised lawyer.

If the proceedings may lead to a return decision or entry ban, the matter should be assessed from both a criminal law and immigration law perspective.

How the Consultation Works

Before the consultation, we ask you to provide a short description of the situation and the most important documents. This allows us to prepare for the meeting and focus on the actual issue.

During the consultation, we establish the current status of the case, the relevant deadlines and any missing documents. We discuss the available options, their risks and the next steps.

You receive information tailored to your circumstances rather than a general explanation of Polish law. If further support is required, we explain the scope of work, the expected stages and the cost before starting.

Not every matter can be resolved during a single meeting. Sometimes we need to review the case file, obtain additional documents or verify information with the relevant authority. If this is necessary, we explain what needs to be checked and why.

What to Send Us

Please send all documents connected with the matter, including those that may appear less important. For a residence case, this will usually include your passport, previous residence cards, a copy of the application, your contract, employer documents and correspondence from the authorities.

If you have received a request or decision, send the complete document rather than only the first page. We also need the date on which it was actually received, as this may determine the deadline for responding or appealing.

Employers should provide documents relating to the employee’s residence status, employment basis, required notifications, salary and the company’s internal procedures.

Do not leave out previous refusals, periods of unlawful stay, criminal convictions or other difficult circumstances. Complete information allows us to assess the risks properly and avoid steps that could make the situation worse.

Why ONE PLUS

ONE PLUS has supported foreign nationals, employers and business owners in Poland for more than 11 years. We understand the practical problems that arise in residence, employment, administrative and business matters.

Our consultations go beyond quoting legislation. We review documents, deadlines and possible consequences, then explain which solutions are available in the client’s specific circumstances.

We can support a matter from the initial review through to the end of the procedure. Where necessary, we work with Polish advocates, legal advisers, sworn translators and other specialists.

Before further work begins, the client receives clear information about the scope of the service, the next stages and the cost. We do not promise an outcome that no adviser can guarantee. Our focus is an honest assessment and solutions that are available under Polish law.

Consultations are available in English, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian. This allows clients to explain their situation clearly and understand the proposed plan of action.

Book a Consultation

If you need help with a residence permit, legal employment, hiring a foreign worker, running a business, reviewing a contract or responding to an official decision, it is worth checking your position before taking the next step.

Early advice can help you avoid mistakes, meet an important deadline and reduce the cost of resolving the matter later. A consultation is also useful when you have received conflicting advice and need to understand which option is legally safer.

Contact ONE PLUS, briefly describe your case and send the most important documents. After an initial review, we will confirm the scope of the consultation and the available next steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions – simple solutions for confusing situations
Do you offer a free consultation? What do I get in 15 minutes?

Yes, we offer a free 15-minute introductory call. It is not a legal analysis of your case. During this short conversation we get to know your situation, determine which area of law your question falls under, explain what ONE PLUS services could help you, and tell you the format and cost of further work. If your case requires a deep dive – document audit, residence permit strategy, contract risk assessment – we will recommend a full paid consultation. The free call does not include legal advice, document review, or a step-by-step plan.

How much does an individual consultation cost and what is included?

A consultation on immigration and legalization matters costs 400 PLN. This includes a complete breakdown of your case: audit of your current status, analysis of possible grounds for a residence permit, risk assessment, and a clear action plan. A business consultation costs 500 PLN. It covers company registration questions, commercial contract review, tax structure analysis, GDPR compliance for IT businesses, or intellectual property protection. You are not paying for a conversation – you are paying for a roadmap you can follow.

Why should I pay if you have a free option? What is the real difference?

The free 15 minutes are for orientation only. We do not open documents, we do not assess risks, and we do not give legal recommendations. A paid consultation is real legal work. We dig into your documents, find weak spots, compare possible scenarios, and give you concrete deadlines and steps. If you need to know exactly which residence permit ground to choose and what mistakes to avoid, that is the paid format. If you just want to know what services exist, the free call is enough.

I am a foreigner. What immigration questions can you solve in one consultation for 400 PLN?

In a single legalization consultation we can check your current grounds of stay and right to work in Poland, determine which path fits you best – temporary residence, Blue Card, permanent residence, or citizenship – and review your key documents such as your employment contract, ZUS, taxes, and insurance. We identify risks that could lead to refusal, explain how to correctly submit your application through MOS 2.0, and show you how to change employers without losing your status. You will leave with a road map, not vague advice.

I run a business. What will I get from a 500 PLN business consultation?

A business consultation gives you specific legal answers tailored to your situation. We can help you choose the right company structure in Poland – JDG or sp. z o.o. – and explain the tax and ZUS obligations that come with each. We review your commercial contracts and highlight clauses that expose you to risk. We assess whether your business can serve as grounds for a residence permit. If you work in IT or creative industries, we can audit your agreements for GDPR compliance and intellectual property protection. You will receive either a written summary of recommendations or direct edits to your documents.

Can I do the consultation online? How should I prepare?

Yes, consultations are available in person at our Wrocław office or online via Zoom or any convenient messenger. Legally it is the same – you get the same depth of analysis regardless of format. To make the most of your session, prepare scans or photos of your passport, your current visa or residence card, your employment contract if the question is work-related, any company documents for business cases, and any letters or decisions you have received from the voivodeship office or court. The more we see, the more precise our analysis will be.

Do I get anything in writing after the consultation?

You will receive verbal explanations during the session itself, but that is not all. After a legalization consultation you get a written summary with your action plan and a checklist of documents to collect. After a business consultation you may receive written comments on your contract or a legal memo, depending on what was discussed. We do not leave you with advice you will forget the next day. You will have a document you can return to.

What if I need full support after the consultation?

Many clients start with a consultation and then decide to hand the entire case over to us. If that happens, we credit the consultation fee toward your further services. You do not pay twice. We simply move from analysis to action – preparing your application, registering your company, filing an appeal, or representing you before the office. The consultation becomes the first stage, not an extra expense.
