Can an Apostille Be Placed on an Electronic Police Certificate from Poland?

The short answer: no. Under current Polish legislation, an apostille can only be placed on a document issued with wet ink stamps and signatures — meaning the original paper document obtained through the court (Krajowy Rejestr Karny). An electronic zaświadczenie with a digital signature is legally valid in many contexts within Poland and the EU. However, it cannot be apostilled. If your receiving country or institution requires an apostilled police certificate from Poland, you will need the original paper version.
